Clear + cold, west wind.
Melted snow for wash water.
Helped Hubby make out order to MWT's's Dry Goods, (including furniture findings) shoes and wearing apparel for the whole family= $8.15.
Pumped water for the stock, did part of evening chores, sawed wood while hubby went to town and sent the order.
Got washing ready to rinse & hang in the morning.
Awful tired and just a wee bit "blue"
Slapped Julia for disrespectful behavior towards me.
Clear cool day.
ReplyDeleteLots to do today and I was awake much of last night thinking about it all. This is one of those human behaviors that baffles me. It never helps a stressful day to be tired yet.....awake all night. And why are unhealthful foods so delicious. It is a miracle our species survives.
The day was a really good one in the end. The new intern is a doll and I will enjoy having her at the studio. First shoot went really well. Two dobermans owned by a lovely elderly French woman who had been raised in the Congo. Really, does it get more interesting than that?
We were contacted by Barrons about licensing our images for books. This is a lovely compliment and a wonderful source of revenue. Unsolicited praise and money...thank you.
Started a big pot of Cuban pork this morning and it was nice to come home to. House smelled delicious. Happy bellies make for a happy family here at the Fish-Tayl house.
The evening is winding up with Ace and Julia laughing and play fighting on the couch, Gus on my lap and Mike reading a book.
What was I awake worrying about. I am very lucky and I feel lucky that I know it.
I caught up.. kept going to bed early and not posting.

Cooooold and clear here- staying at or below freezing at night, which is very rare for Sacramento. Our summers AND winters are getting cooler the last few years. If this is how global warming affects Sac, I'm not complaining. I like it cool, and am actually more likely to go outside in cooler, cold, or even rainy weather than I am in hot weather. The dog gets walked A LOT more regularly in winter than in summer.
ReplyDeleteAnother slammed day- edited til my eyes crossed. Worked late until the end of Jack's drum lesson, and decided to just grab some fresh clam chowder and bread from the market on the way home from picking him up. His drumming is coming along nicely- totally solid rhythm.
Ate with my boys and then got back to work. Stopped just a wee but ago. Dana took the dog for a run while I pushed on through- trying to stay ahead of all the new month & new year tasks. I'm enjoying it. Somewhere along the line today, I traded the bottom half of my outfit for pajama pants- so those of you who claim I'm dialed like Audrey Hepburn all the time just try to imagine me with a dress over my jammies and plush turtle slippers right now!
Establishing a pattern of making tea and settling into this journal just before bed. I am minutes away from full jammyness... Ahhhhhhhh
Began an internship at ARTS (A Reason To Survive). I observed a one on one art/music class with a three year old boy named Wyatt. Wyatt had down syndrome and was just aboutthe cutesy thing in the world. He likes to play the drums more than anything and the cutesy thing about him is his big thick goggle glasses, little kids with glasses are always cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm now writing my first post on this blog which I know will make Tee Taylor happy. Hi mom.
A little blue today. Yes. I feel it too.
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me I looked fragile. Me?
No way!
The day started difficult, it was cold and nobody wanted to get out of bed but I being the mom that I am made everyone get up. Cold mornings are hard in the house even though everyone but me likes the cooler weather. I had a 1 day temporary job assignment as a receptionist where I had filled in before at the old McClellan Air Base. It was at the corporate office and they liked me so much before they asked me back. It was BORING this time as there were few phone calls and even less people coming in the door, I assume it is lag time from the holidays.
ReplyDeleteAfter work I heard that the kids had a good day so we decided to treat ourselves to fast food. It is always difficult getting the youngest, Avalyn 4, to eat but we thought we would get fast food so it wouldn't be near the problem - we were wrong and the night went downhill. We were all tired so touchy and easily annoyed.
Unfortunately shower time led to a screaming crying fit. We hate to get to the point that they lose special privileges but unfortunately when we are pushed to the brink that becomes a defense. Seems Julia and I had a similar evening. Thankfully we have another chance to do better the next day.
