  1. Up early with Jack- finished up the scones and had a nice leisurely morning. Started honey garlic chicken in the crock pot.

Dana really ill, so let him sleep very late. Stayed in my jammies and did lots of internet research on the sofa while Jack 'worked' on his new flight sim. I say worked because it is the actual training sim you use in pilot training- he's two years away from being able to start flight school officially!

I read up on the material from Garden & Gun, and ordered a few books, after not finding them in one single library in this town. I guess John Graves really isn't big outside of Texas....

Wrote a little, woke Dana just before we had to leave for the Crest, and arranged for Grammy to come pick up Jack. Off to see a silent French film from 1928, entitled The Italian Straw Hat. The Sac Philharmonic was there to play the original score, and Jason Adair narrated. It was pretty magical- the orch. sounded absolutely amazing. The film was funny, but fairly drawn out in the nonsensical way those old comedies can be. We had the pleasure of visiting a bit with Jason after, and headed over to collect Jack and eat dinner.

Watched an episode of Top Gear Jason had suggested that we somehow missed, and assigned him Long Way Round so we could all be brushed up on our worldly moto-journeys...

Even more papers to scan and get out for the house. Turned in early and watched The Wrestler. Not sure about that one. We had all set our alarms 30 mins earlier than usual, in an attempt to have a better flow in the mornings- we'll see!

  2. Mike got up early and went to the store and got bacon and fresh bagels for a big yummy breakfast.

We rode our bikes down to university heights to pick up a pick up truck. We enthusiastically began to load green waste to take to the composting facility at our land fill. This turned our ot be a big big job. We made two big loads and then went to go look at a vintage stove. It was not the right stove for us.

After some much needed clean-up we met Teresa, Sandy and Danny for a round of bowling. The high point of the evening was, however, the sparsely attended bowling bar Karaoke. Need I say more?

Off to bed around 12:30 so we can do at least one more trip to the land fill. The yard is starting to look nice.

  3. Did a lot of homework and got it turned in at the last minute...still got an A. Sociology seems to be an easy class for me.

The girls came home today and were spun like cotton candy, acting like they had eaten a pound of it. It made it difficult to get the homework finished which is probably why it took me til the last minute. I am not looking forward to all I have to do tomorrow because a major part of it is not fun - worse than a trip to Wal-Mart to say the least... at least I can get some help for what is happening, it might not be much but it is better than nothing.

I just hope it can be a smooth day.
