  1. Long day. fell asleep on the couch. 5 loads of laundry and lots of other chores and errands.

Drove Julia to school this morning as her car needed to go to the shop. I am glad she is driving but I miss our drive time together. It is nice to touch base a couple of times a day.

Ace and I [mostly Ace] painted the living room. I don't think Mike likes it. hmm.

Working late tomorrow. Don't feel ready to start the week yet. It starts with or without me.

Bought tall lemon and tangerine trees for the yard. I just want to stay home and garden. I feel like I need to be home right now. House work feels so perfect to me.

  2. Out of the house early again, as that's how most of my weekdays are. It doesn't matter how early I go to bed, I am not a morning person. At least not when it's required of me.

I had another good day at work; even received a message from my boss today to say I was kicking ass this month.

I got home around 4. Scotty and Sadie had taken Lefty to the vet to get his ears checked. They've been bugging him for a while now and it turns out he has ear mites. Yucko.

I made dinner plans with Eva and Mark for Vietnamese food. I craved pho. The menu was a little difficult for the kids. Sadie eventually decided on spring rolls and Cooper had BBQ chicken over rice. Cooper accidentally mistook the fish sauce for soy sauce. I think that did him in.

After dinner, we closed down Thrift Town. All six of us combing the aisles for a good find. Cooper for a new jacket, Sadie for a pair of crutches, I wasn't serious enough to be shopping and by the looks of Scotty making faces in a pair of camouflage hunting boots he had found, he wasn't either. None of us found a treasure but it never fails, time out with Mark (hopefully)includes "Millering", a term we use for the mini adventures we go on when we're with him. I've seen fortune cookie factories, riverside bars, numerous thrift stores, delta roads, not to mention the people we meet, he knows everyone, or maybe everyone knows him.

It was early to bed for all if us.

  3. It is the busy time of the year at work, which is good. The day goes by quickly, however, I am left feeling like I need to get more done.
I am choosing new and exciting radio stations to listen to while driving, I want the little one to hear all kinds of music, the drive home was classical, which gives driving an air of being in a movie.
We watched the latest Shrek movie, they really are quite funny. It was good and bad for Mathew, the last time he watched a Shrek movie was with his son, on vacation in France. I can only imagine how much it sucks to have good memories be so painful.
While watching the movie the little one decided to wake up and kick and punch, her kicks are consistent now but so low that no one but me can feel them. This time she punched and Mathew was able to feel her! I'm not sure how I feel about my kid fist-bumping her dad before she's even born. :)
We had a combined brain fart and thought that Mathew's parents were coming into town Tuesday evening, but turns out they come in Wednesday, so we had held dinner waiting for them to get in and were STARVING by the time we realized we were off by a day.

  4. Was NOT looking forward to Tuesday morning! We got the kids off to school and had time to go and spend some of the Starbucks gift cards and talk a little bit before our appointment at the counselors office. Had an epiphany - I have no reason to be nervous and closed in, this woman is just as intimidated of me as I am her... IIIIII'MMMMM REEEEAAAADDDYYYY! (That was at 8:45) 9:15 and we are on our way to the office to hang out because it is FREEZING outside AND in the Starbucks. 9:18 I look at Richard and say - "She is probably going to call and cancel anyway so I don't know what I was even worried about" - 9:20 and the call comes "the appointment has been rescheduled" and Richard and I have to laugh. So instead of coming home and doing laundry and other household chores we went to the movies with free tickets we got from cereal boxes...turns out the UA theater in Roseville has $5 tuesdays...so we only used 1 free ticket because it was a $12 value! Enjoyed The Season of the Witch - it was suspenseful and interesting. Did the kid shuffle and then I was off to spend some time with former co-workers from Pass Labs - it was great to catch up! Temporary work assignment on Wednesday - single day fill in again, still waiting to hear about the job at Pasco Scientific, getting other offers, might have to pick between them! We NEED another car soon!

  5. It's hard to write this the day after- I can barely remember yesterday!

I took over the office for the day at school, as the director was out. I love working from home, but the back and forth between home and school can be so disruptive.

Jack and I tried out the Nugget by the school for groceries. Very little selection for more health minded items- literally one bread with less than 10 ingredients- and at least a couple dollars more expensive than TJ's. Oh well. We did get some great organic meat from the butcher there. And their HABA dept is full of lovely care products, so I'll just stick to that.

Made pizza for dinner and left the boys to watch the original Godzilla while I went to a late yoga class. The 'fortune' I drew before class was 'renew'. Ok.

Talked awhile with D when I got home- he's been down. Then early to bed after a rather long day.
