Spitting snow, seasonable wind N.E.
Hubby drew Julia to school on sled.
Old Bill (horse) down in stable. Didn't want up. Hubby gave him a rifle pass to horse heaven. I helped dig his grave.
Hubby worked on calf shed.
I went after Julia with sled. Rufine Coffee said her mother had been sick quite a while. Katherine Morris wanted to spend tomorrow with the children, another day gone and I have done nothing.
Took a trip to the Woodland school today for a meeting. Out of the way and out of schedule, but I volunteered. Lucky I did- clear as a bell today, and it feels like you can see all of California on that river drive. There's snow on some of the coast range! The view was not all that was clear- the drive did my head a world of good.
ReplyDeleteThe radio followed the mood perfectly- the amusing vintage of Loverboy, The Vapors, Duran Duran, Greg Kihn...
Sent electronic versions of every financial record ever to the mortgage company, and then met the realtor to go over details on other paperwork. Spent the better half of the day crunching numbers, double checking the budget, and trying not to snap at every person I came into contact with. I'm really punchy this week. Further gone than a sunny drive can overcome. Almost through this part, and then I can stop incessantly organizing in my brain- trying to keep every last detail and number straight. Come down a notch from fever pitch. Ahhh...
Did get a bike ride in the afternoon sun- taking Charlie to the groomers. What a stinker! Made our current dinner fave as comfort tonight- chicken apple sausage with sweet potatoes and cinnamon apple sauce. Planning on zoning out very, very soon.
Sunny and warm with a brisk breeze.
ReplyDeleteStrange day today. Mike & I are making optimistic plans and being snappy with one another at the same time. I guess change can be unsettling.
Good client this morning with 2 giant, rambunctious labs. She brought in a box of 100 tennis balls to use in an image with her ball focus choco lab. The shot was amazing. We got another that made her cry she loved it so [which happens a lot] I love when clients are creative and sweet.
Nice dinner with the kids.
Just got back from a Birthday party for Colin. He has moved into a lovely warehouse in the Barrio Art district. The space was great, I met some wonderful people and Colin seemed to be in such a good place. I am so glad I pushed through the call of the sofa and went out.
Two shoots tomorrow. The first client called and said she "went to our website and wanted us to know she didn't want any of that artsy stuff" Then why did she pick us. I hate the word "artsy"I will henceforth use creative instead.
Today was an AMAZING DAY! It was brisk in the morning when we dropped Trenton off but soon became beautiful and sunny and unseasonably warm - especially compared to the seemingly bone chilling days we have had recently.
ReplyDeleteIt started after dropping Trenton off with a trip to the DMV to get some necessary evils taken care of - Change of address, release of liability and a fee to renew Richards license but he was in a GREAT mood so it made it better. After that we went to Kohl's for me even though it was HIS birthday! I got two pairs of much needed pants. From there we went to American River College so he could request his transcripts in the first step to starting back to school. He said walking through the door would have been impossible without me - it is a strange feeling for success to be scary but it is! From there we went to lunch at Subway and then next door to Baskin Robbins for a scoop of the most delicious ice cream - vanilla with caramel ribbons and chocolate caramel turtles - it was even healthyish because there was no sugar added! After that the girls stopped by with their grandma because they had some gifts for him... He had his first sponsee today and it lifted his spirits even more which I didn't think was possible. He had declared earlier in the day that he was not going to allow anyone to bring him down and he was right! He got a phone call from his ex wife and when she wanted to talk to him about something other than the kids he hung up! Some friends came over and we played Whoonu (thanks again Tee) until Richard was ready to sleep. He passed out and slept great! Happy birthday honey!
