January 28 1910

Cold. Partly cloudy. Wind S. to N.

Arose late-no school today.

Baked.

Gus and Fred Priboth drove thru.

Helped Hubby pile lumber for corn crib.

Chored.

H. Hubard rode in to let "Fred" know where to gather for the chavirari.
Hubby is gone now but I heard only a few shots.

Had to punish Johnny for wetting the bed again.

  1. Today was a hectic day for, what seemed like, EVERYONE I know. Very much a "too much to do, not enough time" kind of day. Started out with me not getting much sleep then having to get Trenton to play practice at 8 am - no school, field study day. Then when I was trying to nap while waiting for noon, calls started coming in "when are you going to pick up Rhiannon" I had gotten really angry and frustrated and was bitter and snappy most of the day as there was never a scheduled time, and they called saying that she had been ready and waiting for us - that made me really upset. So we get ready and pick her up, go retrieve Trenton from play practice, come home and give our roommate a ride to Auburn, then head out to the Effie Yaw nature center...and we are supposed to be home by 4 for an appointment Richard had scheduled with a sponsee...we got a little bit turned around on the directions and ended up behind the center rather than in the parking area. Things got heated - and just when I was starting to turn my mood around his acted out. We had a great time at the center and got Rhiannon home, and back to our house about 15 min late for the appointment. I was sooooo tired I was almost nodding off at stoplights. I could maintain while driving but as soon as we stopped my brain and body wanted to sleep. We were ALSO having people over this evening for a combo party, Richard 31st birthday, 3 years sober AND housewarming party. I did NOT get the nap I needed but rounded the bend and was able to catch the second wind and stayed up til everyone left - even helped clean up! I normally would have left it til the morning (and Richard he he) but was up - Guess the vitamins are working. All in all it turned out to be a good day even through the major hurdles.

  2. Accomplished all I wanted in the morning, but reached an impasse in the afternoon when I had to wait on someone else to do their job so I could do mine... Read all afternoon waiting, and will have to make up the work over the weekend.

Took the time to take care of lots of errands, as well.
More things to sign on the house, and resubmitted some missed paperwork on the part of the lender. Again, just waiting on folks to do their job right.

Skipped the second night of the music fest in favor of a lazy family night. Dana coming down with the crud.

  3. It is sunny and gorgeous again. i am so glad. I am in a bit of a funk lately, not sure why. It is Katya's [our intern] last day. We had he educational review with an instructor and 4 students. She did a lovely job. I was pleased and proud she felt she gained so much from the experience.

We all went to lunch at the lotus cafe and sat in the sunshine to eat. A lovely day.
