January 25 1910

Partly cloudy warm. Wind South.

Frost going out of ground fast.

Took Julia to Henry's line and let he go rest of way.

Hubby tidied the house.

Helped catch 5 chickens for market. Hubby took sack of corn to S. Miller's. She sent candy and bag of clothes back.

Hitched up old Dick and Milly to pull wagon by cellar door where I could put culled potatoes. Worked in them half hour. Went after Julia and did evening chores

To tired to care for anything.

January 24 1910

Clear and Bright. Warm S. E.

Took Julia to school and carried coal.

Stood around all day and watched Hubby.

He put me up 1 ridge pole in the stable and south side of calf shed. He also felt "grippy".

Commenced feeding Milly worm powder.

Hitched Milly and Pet to iron wagon and got Julia.

Helped with chores.

January 23 1910

Loveliest day to date. No wind.

Hubby gave me a big tea box decorated in peonies in bright colors. He took the coal and kindling to school house and found an egg behind the cobs. An egg is rare in this community.

Hubby got load of wood.

I ironed, mended and bathed the children.

Baked.

Did evening chores while Hubby got calf from John Ahlquist. (A beauty)

January 22 1910

Clear and warm.

Helped Hubby empty corn boxes and shuck 1 shack to get a load to haul to town,

Penned Beaut's calf away from her.

Tinkered around barn while watching them.

Hubby went to town.

I milked and chored.

January 21 1910

Clear and cool. Biting N.W. Wind.

Took Julia to school. Hubby tidy'ed up the house while I was gone. Did most of ironing.

Helped husk three rows corn, west of alfalfa patch. Old Milly got cold; had to come home before rows were done. Corn badly iced in. Took Pet (horse) after Julia. Hubby emptied big corn box into calf pen while I did most of evening chores.

Got needle book as an ad from S. N. Higinbothan.

January 20 1910

Boo/Cold and N.W. Wind. Clear.

Hubby went at 8:30 to fix rope at school. I took Julia to crossroads.

Earl Cole came back with Hubby.

Made Freddie a bib out of dress shield.

Got Knox gelatin recipe book.

Helped hubby load three loads of manure from stable.

Set first milk to cream to see if it is good yet.

Walter Wood brot Julia past on way home.

Potatoes seem to be "glassing".

Cleaned ashes out of airtight heater.

January 19 1910

Clear and warm. Wind south.

Finished my washing. Baked.

Old Beauty (cow) presented us with fine heifer calf at 2:30 o'clock.

Put her in calf shed and turned calves out in corral.

Hubby walked to town. Took uncle Charlie's bucket and bushings down. Also lent him 1/2 inch wood chisel. He went went by John Alquist and bot steer calf. Got home at 9:10, awful tired.

I did all of the chores that I could alone.

Eat dinner in kitchen.
